Iglesia Hispana Presbiteriana is a chapel and a preaching point, developing ministry among Hispanic people in Roswell, in New Mexico's Pecos Valley. Iglesia is, for the most part, a spiritual community of poor but hardworking people, who have been drawn to the Presbyterian Church by the message of faith, responsibility, and the unmerited grace of God. Most are new to being Presbyterian; many are new Christians as well. Some are recent immigrants from Mexico and some are newly naturalized citizens.

Adan Soliz preaches an evangelistic message in both Spanish and English, and church members visit regularly with agricultural and industrial workers where they live. Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and fellowship activities draw children and youth. Presbyterian and Reformed worship finds a home in the Spanish tongue.

The work in this field was begun in 1992 by Rev. Adan Mairena, with support from Sierra Blanca Presbytery, the Synod of the Southwest, the General Assembly, and our sister-presbytery in western PA, Shenango. Extra-commitment giving (#813254) from faithful Presbyterians continues to add needed financial support to this important work.
