The Santa Teresa Presbyterian
Church finds itself in a dynamic region that is an interesting
combination of the metropolitan city of El Paso, rural agricultural
communities along the Rio Grande, at the edge of the unincorporated
and planned community of Santa Teresa, and six miles north of
the international border with Mexico. The church and most of
the "neighborhood" lie within the Chihuahuan Desert,
and a stone's-throw from one of the world's great rivers. What
an interesting and challenging place to be in ministry to Jesus
Christ!
Chartered in 1986, Santa Teresa Presbyterian
is growing with its community. We have doubled our membership
since then, retired our indebtedness and enjoyed a "mortgage
burning" ceremony, and are enjoying the results of a building
program that doubled our worship space, added classrooms &
a kitchen. As the Santa Teresa community grows around us, our
church is ripe with potential for growth, evangelism and mission.
The ability to bridge differences between people of different
ages, cultures, income levels and religious backgrounds has been
essential to the life and growth of our church and its mission.
