How many Presbyterians does it take to change a light bulb? Five. One to actually change the bulb, and four to talk about how good the old one was!
At Westminster Presbyterian Church, we think both are necessary new ideas make our faith contemporary and relevant while old ideas root us in the wisdom of the past.
Long known for its commitment to mission both hands-on and financial Westminster is actively sharing its core values with a new generation of younger newcomers and their families. With a vibrant worship life, active women's and men's groups, a fine 25 voice chancel choir, children's choirs, youth groups, and a full slate of Christian education offerings for disciples of all ages, we seek to passionately express our thankfulness to God.
The recent addition of 10 new Christian education rooms and a lovely Fellowship Hall give tangible evidence to our desire to be a truly multi-generational community, inclusive of people from diverse backgrounds and ages. We are proudly Presbyterian, acknowledging our inheritance of the Reformed faith in thoughtfully liturgical worship and in careful attention to the church's creeds. At the same time, Westminster offers a place to be where Christians of many different backgrounds seem to find a home. More than 80% of our congregation comes from non-Presbyterian backgrounds!
Some times people visit a church with the question, "What does this church have to offer me?" We ask people to ask the prior question; "What might God do through me if I join Westminster?" If you're looking for an accepting, intelligent, challenging community of faith, the kind of church which actually does something, where you're missed when you're not here, come give us a try!
