First Presbyterian Church was organized
in 1930, not long after Hobbs itself began to develop. The congregation
is a diverse and wondrous blend of faithful people, bound together
by a common commitment to Jesus Christ.
This is a church born in the middle
the Great Depression, when Pecos Valley Presbytery met at the
Hobbs Chamber of Commerce and started a new Presbyterian congregation.
That optimistic and hardy origin has - in the intervening years
- seen the growth of a church marked by great spirit and resilient
faith.
